Who is The HCBK?
Meet the Owner
Matthew has called Boone home for 25 years and loves his little community. He is an Appalachian State University graduate, former radio DJ and is a Real Estate Broker.
Grateful to have many peers and friends he calls family in the food service industry, he loves being outdoors, going fishing, hiking, camping and any kind of paddling as often as possible. He loves exploring the mountains he calls home and can always be found in good conversation with a smile on his face. Matthew’s personality always worked well in the service industry as his problem-solving skills and friendly demeanor made him a perfect fit as a bartender.
Matthew has 14 years experience in the event catering industry working with the local and esteemed Reid’s Catering Company. Between Reid’s and HCBK, Matthew has worked at over 600 events and has been bartending for 11 years. He has bartended in all sorts of environments and for everyone from wedding guests, party goers and students, to CEO’s, diplomats and politicians. He saw a need in the event industry for bartending only services and so he established the High Country Barkeep in 2022.
